Glen Eira Historical Society Book Launch: Along the Line

Come along and help the Glen Eira Historical Society celebrate the launch of “Along the Line: Caulfield to Oakleigh rail stories” – a collection of the ‘day to day’ stories of train travel. The launch will include readings by authors and will be followed by afternoon tea. “Along the Line” records the history of the Caulfield to Oakleigh railway stations, some of which are now lost, along with funny, personal and sometimes surprising stories of train travel. The World is One Kilometre: Greville Street, Prahran explores 180 years of life in the area from before European settlement to the present day. Mayor of Stonnington and Vice President of the PMI Victorian History Library, Cr. Steve Stefanopoulos, will launch award winning historian, Dr Judith Buckrich’s splendidly researched and illustrated history of one of Melbourne’s most remarkable streets.
