EXHIBITION – Hearts of Gold: Minds of Mettle

Friday 6 September 2019 - Friday 29 November 2019

People viewing Hearts of Gold Exhibition at Stanley Athenaeum

This exhibition, curated by the Stanley Atheneaum explores the stories and achievements of women who settled and developed the high country community of Stanley in Northeast Victoria in the nineteenth century.

Hearts Of Gold: Minds Of Mettle gives voice to the remarkable migrant women who arrived, settled and made a new life in the rough and tumble world of the goldfields. It tells of their achievements, and the ways they found to make a living, support their families and serve their communities.

It brings their past to life, and offers new insights and perspectives for women today.

Availing for viewing until the end of November, during library hours.
