Named: Possibly after Frank Stone’s Hotel, a small pub by Mornington Hastings road junction near Kananook Creek. Alternative and less likely theory is that Charles Wedge so named land in 1854 after friend Charles Franks, who was murdered by Aborigines at Mt Cotterill in 1836. (Blake)
