Named: Name of place by Tay River, Perthshire, Scotland where Caledonian Picts had headquarters in Roman times. Formerly known as Mt Sturgeon ( a nearby mountain which was named by Major Mitchell after an officer colleague Lt-Col Richard Henry Sturgeon who was killed in action in 1814). (Blake)
