Named: By Gage (on his wife’s suggestion) after a place near Lough Foyle, Ireland. Surveyor Bryant adapted the name which was Celtic cuil-rathian meaning fern-covered land. District also referred to as Bryan’s (or Bryant’s) Creek. (Blake)
