Bill Dane became President of the Prahran Mechanics’ Institute in 1971, the same year he was elected Mayor of Prahran. He served on the Committee until failing health in 2002, and he passed away in 2005. This picture shows Bill Dane presenting a Shinkfield Award to a student from Toorak Primary School in 1998.
