Prahran Technical School Reunion (1996) |

A reunion of past Prahran Technical School students took place at the Prahran Town Hall on Sunday 27 October 1996. Over 500 former staff and students who attended the school were gathered together at this event. The reunion was held, not only to celebrate Prahran Mechanics’ Institute’s founding of the school, but also to locate participants and memorabilia for the Prahran Technical School oral history project which |
was commenced in 1996. At the time, the Malvern Prahran Leader reported that the entry queue for the reunion extended ‘all the way down Greville Street to Chapel Street’. A history of the Prahran Technical School is in the process of being written by Dr Judith Buckrich, and we anticipate that it will be published late in 2006.
